“Holy Grail” (“saint Graal” en français) est un véritable chef d’œuvre musical à travers lequel Jay Z et Justin Timberlake personnifient la célébrité et évoque les effets négatifs et positifs qu’elle peut avoir.

Pour illustrer cette thématique, la chanson reprend des paroles du tube de Nirvana, Smells Like Teen Spirit : “And we all just entertainers / and we’re stupid, and contagious” (traduction: Nous sommes juste des artistes, nous sommes stupides et contagieuses) . Les références y sont nombreuses entre Mike Tyson, Mickael Jackson et Kurt Cobain.

Une semaine après la sortie de l’album le 4 juin 2013, le titre était cinquième au Billboard Hot 100 américain et septième au classement des charts britanniques. .

Encore une fois, Jay-Z montre ses talents de business man en explorant le champs des médias web. Le clip de “Holy Grail” est sorti en exclusivité sur Facebook ce qui déclenche en moins d’une semaine 2,929,476 vues sur Youtube.
